Here I might put a picture I took of this band in concert. |
It all started when Vocalist (Jimmy English) and Bassist (Josh Dammit) met overseas while serving in the U.S. Navy. Both having a Chicago background, and a love for punk set out to make something that didn't conform with the Navy image. A release from every day discipline and a slip into good old rock n' roll shinnanigins. Blue Collar Logic was their first attempt. Made up of members James Knopp (guitar) Albi "patch" Mason (guitar) Rek Taylor (keyboard and synth) Dane Pikachoo (drums, a later replacement for Cable) Josh Dayment (bass) and Jimmy English (vocals). It constituted a semi post punk new age sound. Right from here it was clear that thier style was gonna transcend the norm. Evetually people left, and the band folded. Josh And Jimmy wanted more though. So this time they dug into the Chicago roots and drawing from hometown greats like Lawrence Arms, Blue Meanies, High Fi and The Road Burners, and the Distillers as well as loved popular bands like the Cramps, Ramones, Tiger Army, Rev. Horton Heat, the Clash, Flogging Molly, and more. Thus was formed Cathrine O'leary's Boys renlisting the former BCL drummer Cable, and also stumbling upon Scotty Dunno. The mergance of integrated styles and influences spawned what is today the greatest Chicago Rock Band to grace Japan. |
